Funder-Specific Questions & User Guides

HMIS data entry requirements can vary by project type and funding source. Projects may be federally funded and/or state funded, or be funded by an entirely different private entity! The terms "funder-specific" and "program-specific" are used interchangeably. 

Current state programs that require HMIS participation include the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and Minnesota Housing (MN HSG.) Current federal programs that require HMIS participation include the Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). 

ICA has developed HMIS data entry guides by specific funding source and their project types. These guides will assist users in understanding any funder-specific data entry requirements and reporting standards. These guides will be updated if program requirements change.
