02. What to Expect During the HMIS Blackout
How long will the HMIS blackout last?
We can’t know exactly when ClientTrack will be ready. We recommend you plan for 7-10 days without access to HMIS.
Data collection during the blackout:
During the blackout, programs will need an alternate method of collecting data that will be entered in HMIS. It is necessary to pause activity in the old system, migrate out everything that has been entered up to that last moment. Then we work with our vendor to prepare client, user, transactional, and project data in what becomes our new MN HMIS.
Please see the following article for a list of reports to run and save before the blackout begins that will help you track your roster of active clients: Preparing for HMIS Blackout & Transition
What support will be available during the blackout?
Support from ICA will be limited during the blackout to live training sessions and password resets, as our staff will be head-down and very busy carrying out the final data migration.
Data entry for night-by-night shelter reservations & check-ins | Starting Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, only the following groups will have access to Community Services:

Priority List Managers | PLMs will retain Read-Only access to Community Services. |
