How do I register my staff for HMIS training?

What this is

ICA's training is online, interactive, and self-paced. To use HMIS, your staff must complete HMIS User Training and agree to an honor a code of ethics to keep client information safe and secure.

What supervisors need to know

  1. Complete this registration form for your new staff ▶️ CLICK HERE.
  2. Help your new staff set aside a few hours to complete the self-paced training. This includes watching interactive videos, reading articles, and completing a quiz.
  3. Their last step for new users is to submit a completion form; this form serves as their signed agreement to follow HMIS policies. See full user responsibilities and code of ethics here.

Supervisors: be sure your new staff has a working email account with your organization. We will send login information to your staff directly.

Prospective users follow these steps

You must have a supervisor or current HMIS user at your agency register you for training.

  1. Once registered by your supervisor, watch your email for instructions from our Helpdesk (mnhmis@icalliances.org).
  2. Login to our online learning tool.
  3. Set aside a few hours to complete this self-paced training.
  4. Pass a quiz. 📝
  5. Submit a completion form to let us know you are done! 😻
  6. Within a few days of completion, we will send you HMIS login information.
