What this is
This article shows you all the steps in the workflow for Night-by-Night (NbN) and Entry Exit (EE) emergency shelters that use the facilities workspace in HMIS.
What you need to know
The facilities workspace is a feature in HMIS that helps a shelter project manage reservations, check-ins, and bed assignments in real time. Not all shelters in Minnesota use it.
- Start in the Emergency Shelter Staff workgroup.
- Clients must have an active shelter project enrollment and a reservation before check-in:
- In Hennepin County, reservations are made by Adult Shelter Connect (ASC).
- In Ramsey County, reservations are made by the Ramsey County's Shelter Entry & Diversion Team.
If you're not sure whether your project uses the facilities workspace to manage your shelter beds, ask your supervisor or contact the MN HMIS Helpdesk.
