Can I Share HMIS Data with Non-HMIS Staff at My Agency?
HMIS users are able to share information in HMIS with non-HMIS users within the same agency in order to provide services. This data can be shared in the form of screenshots or downloaded reports.
Minnesota’s HMIS Data Privacy Notice (on the first page of the
Release of Information) states the following:
Who can see information that is in Minnesota’s HMIS?
- People who work for this agency will use it to help provide services to you or your family.
However, the sharing of passwords and HMIS user accounts is
not allowed and users are not to save passwords on a computer for easier log in. In addition, HMIS users must make sure that information taken from HMIS is not shared with
non-agency staff, including staff from other agencies.
