What is this

This article walks Housing Providers through the steps for Acknowledging Coordinated Entry (CE) Referrals in HMIS.

What you need to know

This article is for Housing Providers who are participating in their CoC's Coordinated Entry system.

When your program receives a Coordinated Entry (CE) referral, the first thing to do is acknowledge it in HMIS. This shows your CoC's Coordinated Entry Team that you're starting the process to connect with the person referred and work toward filling your housing vacancy.

Follow these steps

  1. From your Client's Record, click Enrollment and Services folder and then CE Event:

  1. On the Coordinated Entry (CE) Event page, find the event and click on its edit icon:

  1. Locate the Date Referral Acknowledged field and record the date you first learned of the housing referral:

  1. Fill-out the Housing Provider Contact Name, Phone, and Email fields so your CoC's CE team can easily reach you
  2. For now, do not fill out any other information
  3. Click Save

Now that you’ve acknowledged the referral, your next step is to reach out to your client.
