What this is
Here’s a quick overview of what you need to do in HMIS, what you’ll need to report to your state program funder, and the tools we've set up to help you keep an eye on your data along the way.
What you need to know
This is for projects funded by state Homeless Youth Act (HYA) funding that are required to enter HMIS data into HMIS. Currently, Outreach and Day shelter/Drop-in Centers funded by HYA are not required to enter data into HMIS.
Program Specific Data Elements
This is a list of program-specific data elements (PSDE). These are collected in addition to the standard HUD and Minnesota universal data elements (UDE).
To learn more about each item, click on a row to open it. Each record will show:
- The name of the data element
- Which household member it applies to
- When the information is collected
- Whether it applies only to certain project types
- Which funders require it
- Why the information is being collected
- Instructions for collecting the data
